In today’s video, we’re talking about how Vanguard and Strategist mains wanna be DPS now in Marvel Rivals Season 8 💀. Ranked is getting wild because everybody wants damage numbers, everybody wants final hits, and suddenly the tanks and supports forgot their actual jobs.
Vanguards are supposed to create space, absorb pressure, protect teammates, and control the frontline, while Strategists are built around support value like healing, utility, and keeping the team alive. Duelists are the main damage role, but that does NOT mean every role should start playing like a selfish DPS.
This is the problem:
✅ Vanguards chasing kills instead of holding space
✅ Strategists trying to duel instead of saving teammates
✅ DPS mains getting blamed while nobody peels
✅ Team fights falling apart because roles stop doing their jobs
✅ Everybody farming damage while the objective gets ignored
✅ Ranked turning into six solo players chasing clips
I’m not saying Vanguards and Strategists can’t do damage. They absolutely can — and good tanks/supports SHOULD pressure enemies when the moment is right. But there’s a difference between helping secure kills and completely abandoning your role because you want to top the scoreboard.
A Vanguard doing damage is great when they’re making space. A Strategist doing damage is great when the team is already stable. But if your team is dying, your supports are getting dove, the objective is lost, and you’re still chasing highlight clips… you are not flexing. You are throwing. 😭
